To ensure that you receive your CEU Certifications: please register online. For more event information and instructor bios: COURSE #1  THE INDUSTRIAL INTERNET of THINGS or IIoT Presenter: Keith Webb, National Sales Manager and SCADA expert What is IIoT?  As the digital revolution drives us toward Industry 4.0, data from connected Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) devices enables advanced analytics for process optimization, maximized uptime, and predictive maintenance. The demand for this data from both Operations and IT opened up new connections, converging the two technology networks into one hybrid collective. Learn more on how your SCADA system can bridge the data gap.  COURSE #2 ARC FLASH ANALYSIS and RISK ASSESSMENT Presenter: Lewis Smith, Southern California Regional Manager In a fraction of a second, an electrical incident can claim lives and cause permanently disabling injuries. Fatalities and burn injuries occur each year due to shock, electrocution, arc flash, and arc blast — and most could be prevented through compliance with NFPA 70E: Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace®. Learn the causes of Arc Flash and Arc Blast and how to keep safe. Topics include: Arc Flash dangers and causes, OSHA enforcement, electrical safety, the new IEEE 1584-2018 standard, NFPA compliance best practices, and what a complete risk assessment should include. COURSE #3 HARMONIC ANALYSIS Presenter: Namgay Tshering, P.E., Senior Engineer Harmonics in power systems are serious business. They can damage or reduce the life of your equipment, cause overload in wiring and transformers, produce heat and in extreme cases, even fire. This course discusses the fundamentals and sources of harmonics, and their effects on your systems. We review the IEEE 519-2014 Standard, a guideline for setting limits on voltage and current distortion; and we explore practical solutions for mitigating harmonics.  COURSE #4 BUILDING a PLAN for SCADA SYSTEM MODERNIZATION/SECURITY:How a System Assessment Reveals Your Benchmark Presenters: Stephen Goldsworth,Systems Engineering Group Manager; Jon Shores, Systems Engineer; Steven Bendick, Systems Engineer How well do you really know your system? Weak documentation can hinder daily operation and maintenance efforts, and thwarts quick recovery from more serious issues. Accurate as-built documentation is too often a neglected aspect of automation projects. Documentation isn’t just electrical drawings; it includes any sort of specifications, drawings, databases, or anything else used to design, build, configure, and test the automation system. Learn how system assessments can help identify assets, and become a blueprint for future improvements.
